Community Music Workshop Brings People Together Through the Power of Music

Every Wednesday | 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Join the BU Community Music Workshop, a free, hands-on music learning experience open to all ages and experience levels. Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or looking to expand your musical skills, our workshop provides a welcoming and supportive environment where community members can learn, create, and grow together.
Participants receive hands-on instruction in instrumental performance, music theory, improvisation, rhythm, composition, and ensemble playing while learning directly from experienced musicians and educators. The workshop emphasizes learning through participation, encouraging students to develop confidence, creativity, and technical skills through real musical experiences.
Drawing from traditions of jazz, blues, funk, soul, Latin music, and more, participants have the opportunity to explore a wide range of musical styles while building a strong foundation in music theory and musicianship.
The BU Community Music Workshop is more than a music class—it’s a community space where people of all backgrounds can connect through the universal language of music, develop new skills, and experience the joy of making music together.
No experience necessary. All ages welcome.
